The purpose of this website is to collect and organize my thoughts about Risk Management.  Over the years, first as a graduate student then later as risk analyst, manager, and eventually Chief Risk Officer of several large global trading organizations, I have thought about risks and uncertainty in multiple ways.  

Through this website, I intend to make available some of my ideas to those fellow, like-minded individuals who share my interest in this topic and enjoy looking at the world through new perspectives.  The Thinking About Risk website may also include contributions from former colleagues and friends who have shared in my journey along the way.  Opportunity for readers to provide feedback will be included in the future.  These short articles will appear under the 'Thinking About Risk' link.   

For many people the concept of "risk" is often closely associated with the concept of 'danger'.  Over the years, as I have traveled the world, I frequently came across interesting signage warning of various types of risks/dangers or trying to stop undesirable behaviors.  The Gallery section includes a selection of my favorite photographs with a 'risk management bent' and I hope you find them enjoyable.
